The original painting of Good Intentions was made using ashes from paper that was burned. The paper contained a list of reflections and intentions from New Year's Eve. On the list was one of my intentions for the new year—to loosen up when I’m painting, be more expressive and less rigid. I used that intention while I made this painting.
