Inspired By Nature
Influenced By Minimalism

Dualities through contrasting forms, textures, colors, and even my methodology, often drive and shape my work. Minimalism through a limited color palette and simplicity have become the foundation to my approach.

Why I Paint

My environments always inspire me, whether it's in nature or a city, there's always something interesting that stays with me. I try to bring the feeling I have from these experiences into my paintings. It's my way of escaping life's chaos, both externally and internally, to go inward and feel completely at peace. I think of things that bring me calm or joy, like the movement of water, different textures of land, and the expanse of open sky.

My Ideal Collector

My work is for the thoughtful collector who values the beauty in simplicity and timelessness over trends. Someone who is drawn to the details, organic textures, and a natural palette. They see art not as decoration, but as atmosphere. They care about how a space feels and want to live with pieces that invite stillness, reflection, and a sense of calm in the midst of busy lives.

Meet The Artist
Kim Knoll

Hi, I'm Kim Knoll—a painter, traveler, and equal parts nature lover and city girl living in the heart of Chicago. Each year, I spend time in different parts of the world exploring on foot, from a big city like Madrid to the narrow canyons of Utah. These experiences inspire new perspectives and guide my work.

From my studio in Humboldt Park, I paint on paper using mixed media to find peace within my environment and myself. I think of things that bring me calm or joy, like the movement of water, different layers of land, and the expanse of open sky.

My original paintings are scanned and made into high-resolution art prints that are professionally printed, framed and carefully packed for shipping.

I hope my work creates a connection that invites you to pause, slow down, and become present long enough to restore your own peace and the simple joy of being.
