I pursued fine art throughout school, but one conversation with a high school art teacher pointed me toward graphic design. I went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications from Northern Illinois University, and spent 18 years as a brand designer, deeply rooted in the digital world. During that time, I co-founded the design studio Knoed, and spent over 10 years working on branding and strategy for more than 60 businesses. I also volunteered as the host of the CreativeMornings Chicago chapter, organizing and producing 48 monthly lectures around the city to inspire and share stories from other creatives.

Life took an unexpected turn in 2016 when I picked up watercolors for the first time. Intending to create textures for a branding project, the medium ignited a spark in me that I didn't know existed. I began pursuing painting in my free time as a way to embrace imperfection, rediscover the joy of working with raw materials, and return to my artistic roots. It didn't take long before it grew into something more. For five years I lived in both worlds, splitting my time between design and painting, until a growing demand for my work and a desire for new challenges shifted the balance.

In 2021, I transitioned into painting full-time. My design background continues to influence my style and creative process, bringing a certain perspective to my abstract work. Today, I spend my days working with collectors, designers, curators and brands to make paintings and prints for luxury home and hospitality projects worldwide.
