Meet The Artist
Kim Knoll

Hi! I’m Kim Knoll, a professional abstract painter living in the heart of Chicago, with my studio in Humboldt Park. I create paintings on paper for collectors, art consultants, interior designers, and premium brands, including The Ritz-Carlton Hotels & Yacht Collection, Four Seasons Hotels, and Rosewood Resorts.

Nearly everything I know I learned the hard way, through years of painting and figuring it out as I went. Now I’m sharing what I’ve learned so you don’t have to start from scratch. I enjoy helping others and hope you’ll find my insights and teachings useful for your own art practice.

What Other Artists Are Saying

★★★★★

As a photographer who creates a lot of alternative work on paper and deals with buckling from various processes, this easy-to-follow, step-by-step guide on flattening work that actually stays flat was useful when working with larger sheets of paper. Preparing work for framing or mounting is a step no one who wants to present their work professionally should skip.

— Liz Potter on Flatten Works on Paper

★★★★★

Kim’s course has been an incredible insight into mounting paper works on panels. Her delivery is welcoming and honest and the time spent explaining the details of each process has provided me with a lot of key information on how to frame artwork to a professional standard. I would not have been able to source such specific details any where else. Thanks Kim! This has changed the way I see my own works on paper being professionally mounted.

— Natalie Morawski on Mount Paper to Panel

★★★★★

I think I have found the perfect alternative to framing my artworks on paper. Framing costs have always lowered any margin that an artist can make. But there is finally an alternative that is both modern and archival grade! Kim’s artwork has pushed boundaries and trends, now she has done it again with framing.
