They're Made For Each Other
Most print sets shown here started as a pair of paintings I created together, side by side, at the same time. They use the same custom paint colors, similar marks, and share the same mood — they were always meant to share a wall. That's the difference between a true set and a few prints that just match.
But there's another benefit to a set that reveals itself later. Hang them together now, side by side, and they read as one larger statement. Down the road, if you move or redecorate, you can simply split the set up, sending one piece to the living room and another to the bedroom or hallway, and each will still hold its own. It's much easier to find wall space for two individual, smaller works than one large artwork.
Print sets are a way of choosing art that doesn't box you into the future. And if you find yourself drawn back to a set, pausing to look a second or third time, that's usually a sign you've found the right one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I buy the prints in a set separately instead?
Yes, every print in a set is also sold individually if you'd rather purchase one piece on its own or add a different print to the pairing. Buying the set together generally saves you time compared to purchasing each print separately.
Can I get one print framed and the other unframed?
Each set is purchased as either fully framed or fully unframed. If you'd like a mixed pairing, you can buy them separately on my website in the way you want them, or reach out and I can set that up for you as a custom order.
How should I hang a print set?
It depends on your wall and what feels right in the space. Side by side works well above a sofa, bed, or console table, while stacking vertically can suit a narrower wall or hallway. A gap of 2 to 6 inches between the two pieces tends to keep them feeling connected rather than separate. Check out my size guide for more ideas on this.
Can you give more ideas on prints that pair well together?
Yes! The sets shown here are of pieces that were painted to go together or have been collector favorites, but I give even more ideas in my blog post The Art of Pairing Prints, which also gives tips for how to create your own pairing.
