One-of-a-Kind Paintings Tailored To Fit Your Space
I accept a limited number of commissions each year for collectors and industry professionals curating artwork for residential and hospitality projects.
What’s Involved
Each commissioned piece is a one-of-a-kind original painting on paper created specifically for your space. My work is rooted in abstraction, texture, and restraint, using a limited color palette to create calm, balanced works that feel intentional and timeless. All commissioned paintings are made in alignment with my established style and process, balancing intention with spontaneity.
We’ll begin with a conversation about the project so I can understand the scale, setting, and overall aesthetic direction. The lead time for a commissioned painting depends on my schedule, but is a minimum of 4 weeks. I work at both large and small scales, using rolls of watercolor paper that are 51" x 10 yards. Please inquire to start the conversation.
“Working with Kim on the JW Marriott Essex House NYC suites was a wonderful experience. She was accommodating and very communicative throughout the process. We would definitely collaborate with her again in the future!”

Meet The Artist
Kim Knoll
Hi, I'm Kim Knoll—a painter, traveler, and equal parts nature lover and city girl living in the heart of Chicago. Each year, I spend time in different parts of the world exploring on foot, from a big city like Madrid to the narrow canyons of Utah. These experiences inspire new perspectives and guide my work.
From my studio in Humboldt Park, I paint on paper using mixed media to find peace within my environment and myself. I think of things that bring me calm or joy, like the movement of water, different layers of land, and the expanse of open sky.
My original paintings are scanned and made into high-resolution art prints that are professionally printed, framed and carefully packed for shipping.
I hope my work creates a connection that invites you to pause, slow down, and become present long enough to restore your own peace and the simple joy of being.
