It's rare to find such sound and comprehensive advice about these necessary finishing processes for professional artwork on paper. Kim explains and demonstrates everything so clearly, and she warns of the pitfalls so many of us come across at these - let's admit, rather mundane - stages after the art itself has been finished. She also reminds us this is all part of the work, and that the process can even be meditative.
This was a great course. I watched it twice and earlier in the week launched into Kim's technique. I followed her directions exactly and today was the big "reveal." Honestly I was amazed. Not only was it completely flat, but for some reason, it looked even better which makes sense because as soon as you apply product the structure of the paper is bound to change a bit. Added bonus: the videos are lovely because Kim's space is a visual delight and the vibe is low key which is appreciated. Kim has been available to answer questions by email as well as very generous with her tips. I highly recommend Kim and this course.
Super helpful information and details
I already mount my acrylic paintings on paper on cradled panels, but I learned some new tips, some new materials and new tools, and some strategies for really big pieces that I didn't know before. Kim was very responsive to my questions. It was empowering to see that much of what I already do is in line with another professional artist out there.
