This painting was inspired by the solitude, calmness, and quiet of the Boundary Waters at the border of Minnesota and Canada. I spent a week there paddling from island to island, camping, and taking photos with my manual film camera, only to find out after developing my film that it didn't take any photos on the trip. So l painted the feeling and sight that I recalled the most.
